Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory, hyperproliferative skin disease.

The most common sites are the extensor surface  (elbows,knees and the lower back).

 Other sites include scalp,nails,flexures and palms.

As per ayurveda psoriasis is considered as a eka kustha ( one of the type of kustha roga). The disease eka kustha occurs due to vata and kapha doshas imbalance  and dushyas like twak, rakta, mamsa and lasika.

SYMPTOMS

·      Asweda ( no sweat from the affected area/ dryness)

·      Mahavastu ( spread over a large area )

·      Matsyashakalopam (silver/white scaly plaques)

Other symptoms like itching, redness, skin discoloration, erythematous patches, pain, Burning sensation etc..
